WWE Survivor Series 2016 – Predictions

So.. it’s that time again, we have had our 5 minutes rest from the last PPV from WWE. That’s right it’s time for the 2016 Survivor Series which heads into its 30^th year this year. Its crept up on us quick hasn’t it? WWE have been pushing this PPV to be the bigger one over the likes of Hell in a Cell, so what can we expect from the current card? Here are our WWE Survivor Series 2016 Predictions.

Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg

So this match looks like it could be exciting! The return of Goldberg to what can only be expected to be a somewhat hostile crowd in Canada after he ended Bret Harts career. Will they be cheering on Lesnar instead or will the boos be equally deafening? Will we see a repeat of Wrestlemania XX with Goldberg pulling out his legendary spear and jackhammer to win the match – to a very apathetic crowd in Madison Square Garden? Or will this be Lesnar’s chance to send Goldberg to join the many before him who have become citizens of Suplex City?

My prediction is that we will see Lesnar win this one taking the score to 1-1, it will be a good match though and certainly one I am looking forward to seeing.

Team RAW vs Team Smackdown – Men’s Match

Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Braun Strowman vs. AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, and Shane McMahon (/w James Ellsworth)

In this match we see RAW take on Smackdown in a 5 on 5 Survivor Series Elimination match. This is probably one of the matches on the card I am looking forward to most. If nothing else I am looking forward to see what antics we can expect from Shane-O-Mac in his first in ring appearance since Wrestlemania earlier this year! He is a replacement for Baron Corbin after he was injured and will feature for team Smackdown alongside AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. They will be facing Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns (providing he is returned from his family issues which took him away from the WWE Tour last week) Chris Jericho, Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins.

This one is slightly harder for me to call prediction wise. If I go with my heart, then I want Smackdown to win this one, but I can’t help thinking that RAW have got the edge here so as much as it pains me I predict a RAW win in the men’s event.

Prediction: Team Raw Wins

Team RAW vs Team Smackdown – Women’s Match

Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Nia Jax, Alicia Fox, and Sasha Banks (/w Dana Brooke) vs. Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Carmella, and Naomi (/w Natalya)

This match will be the same style as the men’s match seeing the RAW Women’s division going up against their Smackdown counterparts. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, on Team RAW you have got the team captain and current champ Charlotte Flair, who is going to have to get on and work alongside her arch nemesis Sasha “The Boss” Banks. It remains to be seen how well that will go. Bayley, Nia Jax and Alicia Fox need to watch that they keep enough space between these two though lest it cost them the match! Smackdown have got a strong side as well, headed up by Nikki Bella, we will see Smackdown champ Becky Lynch in action as well as Alexa Bliss Naomi and Carmella.

With so much history between various members on both sides it will be one to watch to see who will break ranks and settle some scores first. My prediction is that Team RAW will also win this one – as long as Charlotte and Sasha Banks can get along long enough to take the victory.

Team RAW vs Team Smackdown – Tag Team Match

The New Day (Big E and/or Kofi Kingston and/or Xavier Woods), Sheamus and Cesaro, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Enzo Amore and Big Cass, and The Shining Stars (Primo and Epico) vs. Heath Slater and Rhyno, The Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley), American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable), The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso), and Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango)

The Survivor Series Tag Team match promises to be quite busy with it being a 10 on 10 elimination match ending only once all of either brands tag teams have been eliminated. You will expect to see the likes of Anderson and Gallows, Sheamus and Cesaro, Enzo Amore and Big Cass, and the Shining Stars headed up by the current and longest reigning Tag Team champs – The New Day for Team RAW. Their opponents are the Smackdown tag team champs Heath Slater and Rhyno, The Usos, American Alpha, The Hype Bros and Breezango. Both sides have their histories between the ranks and the potential is there for a few explosive moments but on the whole this match for me will be one of the less exciting ones on the card if I am honest.

RAW for me have the better teams so I think going into this they have the edge. Smackdown may surprise us though but I am sceptical on that. So my prediction is a clean sweep for RAW taking all 3 of the team matches.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match

Kalisto vs The Brian Kendrick (c)

This is another huge opportunity match. With the Cruiserweight Championship on the line if Kalisto beats the current champ The Brian Kendrick then we will see the whole of the Cruiserweight division will move over to Smackdown with the title. I am not sure for any single title match the stakes could get any higher! Sure the Intercontinental Championship could change brands – but it won’t see a whole division moved across like we would here.

Kalisto has been left out in the cold a bit with the Crusierweight Division ramping things up on Monday night RAW, and Kalisto having to watch from the Smackdown sidelines. He has got everything to prove in this match and this is probably his one chance. It’s doubtful that such a thing will come up again any time soon – if ever! So it really is now or never for Kalisto. Can The Brian Kendrick keep up with the flying fight that Kalisto is going to bring? Does he have a plan? He says he does but that still remains to be seen. As always I am looking forward to watching Kalisto in the ring in what promises to be a very good match up.

My prediction here is that we will see a Smackdown win, Kalisto will take the championship and the whole division over to Smackdown LIVE.
