Editor’s Note: Two things before we start. First off: Some of these match predictions were written before Monday Night RAW, as a result, things may slightly changed since then. I’ve reviewed the piece and noticed nothing that seems to be incorrect so it’s published as is.

Secondly, we’re having our second ever Wrestling Betting Live Stream on Facebook! It will take place at 2pm (UK Time) on Sunday. In it we will be discussing the NXT Takeover Brooklyn III card, as well as discuss the WWE Summerslam Predictions as well as share some exclusive bets and news before the event! If you wish to join us, be sure to like our Facebook page and check in at 2pm on Sunday! Right: On with the predictions.

So…time for the second biggest PPV of the year… that’s right folks its Summerslam weekend! And this year is billed to be a very long event so best stock up on your sleep now while you have chance because come Saturday you will be sitting around watching for an estimated 6 hours of tantrums and score settling. So let’s see what is in store for us on the card coming up!

WWE Universal Championship Match

Brock Lesnar (c) vs Roman Reigns vs Samoa Joe vs Braun Strowman

The championship is on the line this weekend with this fatal 4 way match to determine the champ. There is an added excitement with this match as well owing to the fact that both Lesnar and his manager Heyman have been very clear that should the championship change hands they will both be leaving the WWE. Some may welcome such a departure but let’s be honest – the WWE wouldn’t be the same without Lesnar the King of Suplex City. As it was hard to find just one component worthy of the title shot against Lesnar the top three in line for the championship kept beating each other in the ring in spectacular style leaving the “clear leader” slot vacant. So a fatal 4 way is the only way forward. It’s hard to say who will win in a match where anything can happen. All 4 men are huge powerhouses and all a worthy champion, however I find it hard to believe that the WWE would let Lesnar walk away from this match without the belt and therefore walking away from the company for good.

Prediction: Brock Lesnar to win

WWE Championship Match

Jinder Mahal (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura

This match is probably for me the most exciting on the card. Originally John Cena wanted to challenge Mahal for the championship this weekend but lucky for us Daniel Bryan stepped in and put someone else up for the challenge. That someone is Shinsuke Nakamura. Does he have what it takes to dethrone Mahal? Especially with the Singh Brothers waiting in the wings ready to unleash whatever hell it will take to keep Mahal as the champion. Nakamura is going to have to pull something spectacular out of the bag to get one up on the champ but personally I think he can do it. I can’t wait to see him in action this weekend as he is such a fantastic entertainer – plus lets be honest…. You all know you love his entrance music!

Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura to win

John Cena vs Baron Corbin

Of course we couldn’t have a PPV of this magnitude without the face of WWE John Cena appearing in the ring to settle some sort of score with another superstar. This time it is the turn of Baron Corbin following Corbin’s brutal attack on Nakamura following his win recently against Cena. Cena is all about being fair and Nakamura won that match fair and square so Cena took exception to Corbin’s behaviour and retaliated and things have gotten more and more hostile between the pair ever since. Cena is determined to use this match to teach Corbin a lesson and give him a much needed attitude adjustment. Can the veteran take on the Lone Wolf and walk away victorious? I think so – it’s a bit like watching a parent tell a naughty child off really, the child doesn’t tend to come out on top….

Prediction: John Cena to Win

WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship

Naomi (c) vs Natalya

Natalya is after a belt again – for a change. Is it just me that gets tired of these fruitless attempts of hers to rule the roost in the women’s locker room? I feel like when there is a lack of a better contender the WWE trot out Natalya. Granted it was a bit of a shock that she won the 5-way Elimination match at Battleground, so maybe just maybe the WWE are finally going to give her a shot at being Champion for a while? I doubt it though. Not unless she is going to win it and then immediately lose it to Carmella as she cashes in the Money in the Bank contract and strikes whilst the iron is hot? That would be an interesting turn of events wouldn’t it? However in absence of that happening I don’t see Natalya defeating Naomi who is on a roll at the moment!

Prediction: Naomi to win

WWE United States Championship

AJ Styles (c) vs Kevin Owens

So after a spat of matches where these two superstars have blamed their respective losses on the refs this match will see Shane O’Mac be the guest ref for this match to settle any arguments between Owens and Styles as once again the title is on the line. Owens has wound up both Styles and Shane O’Mac so he was maybe a bit silly going into this match up like that… however I suspect Shane O’Mac will stick to his ethics and be fair. This match is very much going to come down to which of these stars manages to outwit the other on the night. It could go either way so I am going to have to just go with who I want to see win here.

Prediction: AJ Styles to win

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship

The New Day (c) vs The Usos

After their spectacular win at Battleground The New Day are quick to offer The Usos another chance to step into the ring with them and try to take back the championship from them. I expect this match to be as big and brutal as that at Battleground. Both sides will be bringing their A game and determined to walk away victorious. I want to see The New Day retain their title here, maybe even go for a run to beat their previous title reign? I don’t think the belts will change hands just yet if I am honest. I feel there is more to this feud with The Usos it’s not run his course yet so I think that there is more to come here.

Prediction: The New Day to win

WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Akira Tozawa (c) vs. Neville

These two go head to head again this weekend in the square circle. Tozawa had a title shot previously which he believes he was cheated out of his win when Neville used underhand tactics to secure his remaining the King of the Cruiserweights. So this matchup is to settle that score and see who comes out on top. Owing to the fact that Tozawa is going in to this with a shoulder injury he already has a disadvantage against a fighting fit Neville. I suspect Neville will use his opponents injury to his advantage to secure another win in the ring.

Prediction: Neville to win

Randy Orton vs Rusev

Randy Orton goes up against Rusev this weekend following Orton stepping up to be his opponent at Summerslam. Rusev has a huge chip on his shoulder with the WWE at the moment and if he loses this match it will probably be another hit against him from the bosses. Can Orton face the rage of the Bulgarian Brute and walk away to tell the tale or will Rusev get a chance and hopefully some retribution from the WWE? Orton can be every bit as dangerous as Rusev in his own way so Rusev should be concerned stepping into the ring this time. I do think Orton may have the upper hand here and will put Rusev in his place.

Prediction: Randy Orton to win

WWE RAW Women’s Championship

Alexa Bliss (c) vs Sasha Banks

Well here we are again, I have a feeling of dejavu here for some reason? Oh well… here we have Sasha Banks up against Alexa Bliss in a bid to take the RAW Women’s Championship from the Wicked Witch of the WWE. This will probably be a very good match to watch and I am looking forward to this one. Both of these Superstars are great to watch in the ring so this should be very entertaining. There is certainly no love loss between these two and it makes for an interesting display of rivalry in the ring. I don’t think the title will change hands yet though so I think although Sasha will give a great show she will bow down in the end.

Prediction: Alexa Bliss to win

Shark Cage Match

Big Show vs Big Cass

It’s a common opinion here in our offices that this particular match may be a “Big Tea Break”. I honestly cannot even drum up an ounce of excitement for this match if I am honest. Don’t get me wrong I love watching Big Cass…. With Enzo. They are an entertaining force in the tag team division but Big Cass going solo sort of loses the appeal for me. Now that they are bitter rivals and Enzo has gotten involved in previous match ups where Big Cass has gone up against Big Show, Enzo will spend this match suspended in a shark cage above the ring, looking down unable to help either opponent. Has Big Show lost his edge with this stipulation? Or can he come through? I reckon we will see Big Cass walk away a winner here… if you are back in time from the brew run that is!

Prediction: Big Cass to win

Finn Balor vs Bray Wyatt

I am also looking forward to this match. I mean come on… who doesn’t like watching Finn Balor in action, I am a sucker for the Irish….! This one has been building for a few weeks now with various spats between these two superstars.   Both have a brilliant amount of power and dominance in the ring so technically it could go either way. Wyatt is determined to put an end to the hero worship of Balor, he hates how the WWE view Balor as some sort of idol to be worshipped. However we all know Balor has a dark demonic side… so careful Bray….. Don’t anger the devil…

Finn Balor to win
