So after a few bad months, we turned it around last month with a few bets coming in. Could’ve been better, but generally Summerslam is a pretty good PPV for us, and for the bookies, as they drop some great bets to try and entice you in.

We will focus on them later this week, but what on the card? Well, it’s a bit…meh. It seems like the biggest feud is the undercard rather than the main event. However we’ll see what happens in this month’s PPV. Here are our WWE Summerslam Predictions.

WWE Heavyweight Championship Match

John Cena © vs Brock Lesnar (/w Paul Heyman)

So, the predicted match happened – Cena up against Lesnar at Summerslam. An interesting match due to Lesnar’s part time schedule, so if you look at that, you’d assume Cena will win.

Which I don’t think will happen.

Cena doesn’t need the title, and the title has become rather insignificant recently, with a tour of Australia not featuring the champion, and even Cena missing a Raw or two recently, there hasn’t been a drop in rankings. Having the strap on Lesnar could once again add legitimacy to the belt. As now the rub won’t be “Who broke the streak”, but “who broke the man who broke the streak”. Lesnar to win, and to hold on the belt for a long, long, time.

Prediction: Brock Lesnar Wins

Bray Wyatt vs Chris Jericho

So this feud rolls on for another month. Jericho got a somewhat surprising victory last month, but this time around Harper & Rowan are banned from ringside. Odds look like they’re stacked against Bray, so I have a feeling he will win this time around.

A year ago Wyatt made his debut, destroying Kane, it’s been an up and down year – a few high profile feuds but very few victories in them. Wyatt needs a win, so I feel he will be victorious here.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt Wins

20140728_LIGHT_HP_SS_matches_StephBrie_1

Brie Bella vs Stephanie McMahon

So with Bryan injured Brie has taken up the mantra of the feud, feuding with Stephanie McMahon, including a match at Summerslam.

This match is probably one of the harder to call. On one hand, McMahon really doesn’t have to go over on this one, alternatively something screams of shenanigans for McMahon to win.

It could be a good way to introduce Daniel Bryan back into the fold (not sure how long he was out, but the fact he’s hardly been mentioned suggests he **may** be in his wife’s corner.

Prediction: Brie Bella Wins

Flag Match

Jack Swagger (/w Zeb Coulter) vs Rusev (/w Lana)

There has been a bit of controversy recently surrounding Rusev’s manager Lana referencing world events in promos (which was a bit uncomfortable, but it wasn’t completely offensive despite what the media thought), and the result has been that Jack Swagger has been a bit of a revelation as a face.

I think Rusev could slip up here. A Flag match is a daft one, because it has quite a daft finish, with no pinfall or submission, or indeed anything else. So it’s quite easy for Rusev to lose and keep face. Having Swagger waving Old Glory at the end of the match is quite a visual, so I can see Swagger winning.

Prediction: Jack Swagger Wins

WWE Divas Title Match

A.J. Lee © vs Paige

So Paige has well and truly completed her heel turn now, and A.J. is now the face champion.

This feud has been on the backburner for the most part of the last month, with the Brie/McMahon feud being the one with focus for this month. As such, it’s probably the hardest to call this match the entire card.

To spice things up, I am going for a Paige win. Always better for the face to be a chaser, so can see Paige winning.

Prediction: Paige wins

20140728_LIGHT_SS_matches_ReignsOrton_Sponsored_HOMEPAGE

Randy Orton vs Roman Reigns

Two of the men in last month’s main event started a feud, which has kind of been a bit lost. With this match and Ambrose vs Rollins mixed in this feud, it’s been a bit of a quiet feud.

It makes sense that Roman Reigns wins this. He appears to be getting the push, so a win over a “not-really-needing-a-win” Randy Orton (who has had a great 2014, and can really put Reigns over), would make the most sense.

Prediction: Roman Reigns Wins

20140804_LIGHT_SS_matches_MizZiggler_Sponsered_HOMEPAGE

WWE Intercontinental Title Match

The Miz © vs Dolph Ziggler

Somebody else who has been a revelation recently has been The Miz. Since coming back from his film commitments, The new Hollywood Miz has been great, perfect fit for a heel, and deserves an interesting, and possibly long, run with the strap.

As such, I cannot see Ziggler winning anything here. Sure it will be a good match, but Ziggler is in a bit of a lull. Though he seems to be getting a few bones, so maybe soon he’ll be higher up the card.

Prediction: The Miz Wins

Lumberjack Match

Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins

And so to the greatest rivalry of the last month or so – Ambrose vs Rollins in a Lumberjack match.

Ambrose has been superb on the stick, with Rollins matching him, and Rollins has been superb in the ring, with Ambrose matching him. This is effectively the middle match in the feud. With it being Summerslam, and the fact it’s a Lumberjack match, I can see this one going to Dean Ambrose. Rollins will probably win the feud, so Ambrose can get the win here, in particular the match being his match.

Prediction: Dean Ambrose Wins
