Roadblock: End of the Line 2016 – Predictions

So it’s finally time for us to say it’s the final PPV of the year! Yes you heard me right. After what feels like a PPV every 5 minutes we will now get a breather for a bit after Roadblock. So let’s get straight to it so we can all go and finish getting drunk at our Christmas parties! Here are our Roadblock End of the Line Predictions.

WWE Universal Championship

Kevin Owens (c) vs Roman Reigns

So here we see Kevin Owens defend his championship against Reigns. Reigns already holds the U.S. Championship but the greedy powerhouse wants more. There has been a fair bit of animosity between these two with Reigns claiming that Owens doesn’t deserve the championship as he can’t hold onto it without his little buddy Chris Jericho – but let’s be fair it’s a reoccurring theme with champions having someone to help them out when it comes to the crunch. Whilst Owens blames Reigns for the loss at Survivor Series. Both men are technically strong wrestlers and it should be a good match. I am not sure Kevin Owens has what it takes to take Reigns down but I also don’t see him losing the championship just yet. I am not sure what Owens will pull but I think somehow he will find a way to hold onto that title.

Prediction: Kevin Owens

WWE Raw Women’s Championship

Sasha Banks (C) vs Charlotte Flair

This match looks to be exciting. We are by now all well aware of the rivalry between these two ladies along with the title yo-yoing between them so much over the last few months. But this time they go head to head in a 30 minute Iron Man Match which means they go at it against each other for 30 minutes and whoever has the most victories at the end of the 30 minutes wins and therefore is the Women’s Champion.

Thankfully there is also no rematch clause for this match so the winner is the winner and this storyline will (hopefully) come to an end giving some of the other women in the division a chance at a title shot moving forward. Will the curse of the PPV go against Sasha and favour Charlotte with her run of PPV wins? Or will Sasha get the title run that she deserves? It could go either way with these two.

Prediction: Charlotte Flair

Chris Jericho vs Seth Rollins

So much angst between these two superstars and it comes to a head this week as they face up against each other. The hostilities have grown between them to quite brutal. Hopefully this match will put an end to their antics and they can move on once and for all… right? Rollins is not going to easily forgive or forget the fact that Jericho messed with his shot at the Universal championship and cost him the match.

Rollins is going to go all out on Jericho to pay him back for this and in an attempt to gain another shot at the Universal Championship. But is Jericho also headed for a title match against Owens? Could Owens make an appearance and return the favours by helping Jericho out? With the possibility of the storylines to come this match could go either way. I will be routing for Rollins to win but the way the WWE are pushing Jericho recently I have a bad taste in my mouth that he is going to come out on top.

Prediction: Chris Jericho

WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Rich Swann vs. TJ Perkins vs. The Brian Kendrick

The Cruiserweight Championship is up for grabs in this triple threat match which sees Rich Swann defend his title against both TJ Perkins and The Brian Kendrick. All three have held the title in its short existence since the Summer Cruiserweight Championship and all three want a longer reign with the title. TJ Perkins beat Rich Swann in the summer championship series which saw him go on to win the belt. And Kendrick has also beaten Swann recently on 205 Live. Rich Swann is going from strength to strength at the moment but is it enough to hold off both of these hungry competitors and retain his title? He is going to have to pull out something exceptional from his arsenal in order to win this one but I have faith that he can do it.

Prediction: Rich Swann

Sami Zayn vs. Braun Strowman

So Sami Zayn gets his long awaited rematch against Braun Strowman this week. However the WWE have thrown in the stipulation that Zayn has got to last 10 minutes in the ring against Strowman, Strowman thinks this is laughable as there is no chance Zayn can survive that long with him in the ring. It will be interesting to see how long Zayn can hold his own in this match, and what state he is in at the end of it! But I think Strowman is underestimating Sami Zayn somewhat.  He managed to have one of the best matches of the year against Nakamura in NXT so I wouldn’t completely write him off. Yes Strowman has the size and weight advantage but Zayn could last his stipulated 10 minutes if he keeps his head about him.

Prediction: Sami Zayn

Big Cass vs. Rusev

This one seems like a bit of a silly situation that has developed. Rusev has for weeks been picking on Enzo Amore after he had a little chat with Rusev’s Mrs Lana whilst starkers and locked out of the locker room back stage. Therefore this week sees Big Cass take on Rusev on behalf of his pal Enzo. Big Cass is tired of watching Rusev take out his pal and it’s got him all riled up and hot under the collar. Does Big Cass have what it takes to beat the former U.S. Champion? Or will Rusev unleash his underhanded fury on Big Cass? I think Big Cass is starting to come into his own since moving to the main roster early this year and this would be a good boost for him.

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship

The New Day vs Cesaro & Sheamus

The New Day are the longest reigning Tag Team champions within the WWE and this week sees them once again defend their titles, this time against the pairing of Cesaro and Sheamus. Cesaro and Sheamus are a very odd tag team, but odd as they are they seem to work somehow. The New Day however have been at this a lot longer so they have their moves nailed down which explains why they are the longest reigning champions. Is it time that The New Day finally hand over their titles? And if so are Sheamus and Cesaro the right team to take over the title?
